Petzl Rollclip

Description

Designed for a multitude of applications, the Petzl ROLLCLIP models combine the efficiency of a pulley with the ease of clipping a carabiner. The Petzl ROLLCLIP has the pulley wheel of the MINI pulley, but with extended and reshaped side plates to create a large volume frame with built-in closure system. This eliminates the need for a secondary connector and reduces the overall height to a convenient size. Reducing friction at a rope redirect or perhaps part of an emergency hauling system in water rescue; once you have one you are going to find more and more uses for it. A neat example of use is when linked into a handled ascender to create some mechanical advantage when doing a short ascent. The high quality pulley wheel with ball bearings gives the best return on your effort, with the bonus of the compact height allowing a bit more travel before resetting. Once in position, the gate orientation enables easy and rapid installation of the rope, with a key lock nose further reducing the chance of snagging. The Petzl ROLLCLIP is available as two separate versions: ROLLCLIP A and ROLLCLIP Z.

Description – Petzl Rollclip A

ROLLCLIP A is a pulley-carabiner with a gate opening on the pulley side that facilitates installation of the rope when the pulley is fixed to the anchor. It is available with an automatic TRIACT-LOCK locking system, or without a locking system. ROLLCLIP A may be used with a CAPTIV positioning bar to favour loading of the carabiner along the major axis, to limit the risk of it flipping and to keep it integrated with the device.

• Easier handling:
  – sheave mounted on sealed ball bearings for excellent efficiency
  – gate opening on the pulley side facilitates installation of the rope when the pulley is fixed to the anchor
  – may be used with a CAPTIV positioning bar to favour loading of the carabiner along the major axis and to limit the risk of it flipping
  – Keylock system prevents any accidental snagging of the carabiner when putting the pulley in place

  – ensures an improved strength-to-weight ratio
  – protects markings from abrasion
• Available in versions with or without TRIACT-LOCK locking system
